Agarwood - Brunei

Brunei, on the northern coast of Borneo, is a source of exceptional agarwood. Its finest pieces naturally carry notes reminiscent of Kynam, releasing a rich and captivating fragrance when warmed. Authentic Brunei agarwood of this quality is becoming increasingly difficult to find.

The material offered here comes from a single piece of agarwood preserved in Japan for decades. Much of the original piece was crafted into bracelets, and I collected the remaining material to share its rare beauty with fellow agarwood lovers.

How to Enjoy

With its pronounced fragrance even at room temperature, you can simply open the bottle and gently appreciate its aroma, much as you would enjoy an aromatic snuff bottle.

These small pieces are particularly well suited to the Arabian incense tradition: simply place a small amount directly on charcoal for a rich, intense, and smoky fragrance.

For a gentler experience, we recommend the Japanese Kōdō method: indirect warmth from charcoal, with the agarwood resting on a mica plate above the heat source. This allows its delicate layers of fragrance to unfold gradually. An electric incense burner is another convenient option; begin at a low temperature and adjust slowly to suit your preference.
