Attar & Parfum - Hermit Orchid

In Wuyi Mountain, the crafting of cliff tea has long been regarded as a form of spiritual cultivation. Beyond absorbing the essence of sunlight, rain, and the mountain itself, each tea leaf also carries the discipline, wisdom, and quiet awakenings of those who devoted their lives to its making. During my journeys through Wuyi Mountain, I often felt the lingering presence of ancient hermits hidden among the valleys, inspiring the creation of this perfume.

At the heart of the composition is an exceptionally rare Zhengyan (正岩) cliff tea oil. Each kilogram of tea yields only slightly more than one tola of oil, resulting in a material of remarkable depth and refinement. Rich, profound, and quietly luxurious like aged oud, it captures the spirit of Wuyi Mountain in a way unlike anything I had experienced before. Blended with our vintage oud oils, it creates an entirely unique foundation accord.

To this deep tea accord, we introduced a delicate orchid-like floral note through a magnificent Magnolia oil from LMR. Its tranquil elegance immediately evoked the image of valley orchids long associated with hermits in Chinese tradition, quiet, elusive, yet filled with spirit and grace.

Finally, we incorporated a selection of floral and woody essences, brings harmony and smoothness to the composition. Like orchids quietly blooming throughout a mountain valley, the fragrance reveals a serene world of stillness, wisdom, and profound connection with nature.
